Please visit the Library of Congress' American Memory site by clicking on the picture and find historical events which took place today, yesterday andon your birthday.
You will have to complete an activity chart by summarizing the information for each day, selecting pertinent facts and findings.
Directions:
Part One:
1. Click on the photo of "American Memory."
2. Click on Today in History (on the top right side of the screen).
3. Read the article and fill in the first column on your data chart below.
Part Two:
1. Click on "Yesterday."
2. Read the article and fill in the second column in your data chart below.
Part Three:
1. Click on "Archive."
2. Select your birth month.
3. Select your birth day.
4. Click on "Go."
5. Read the article and fill in the third column in your data chart below.
Part Four:
1. Pick 1 fact from each heading.
2. Discuss the impact or implications this fact has had or will have in our history. How we can use this as a lesson or building block for the future?
