Create Your Own Utopian Society
(Chapters 10-18)
Step 1. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Give it a name
2. Give it a system of government
3. Create a physical description
4. Create an account of how its people spend their days.
5. What roles would history and memories of painful events play in the growth of the community? (i.e 9/11, Family Deaths, Earthquake in Haiti, Japan's Tsunami?)
6. What would have to be added to our society today in order to make it perfect? ( i.e Free Health care? No Bills?)
7. What would be lost in this search for perfection? (i.e Freedom of Speech? Freedom of Press?)
Step 2. Compare and Contrast Utopias
Visit the 4 sites of Utopian societies that exists today. Use a Venn Diagram to Compare and contrast your Utopian society and one that currently exists.
